Over the past few months I have not been as disciplined about getting up when my alarm goes off, partly because I’ve gotten into the bad habit of staying up too late. For the last week, I’ve been setting my alarm for 7 hours after I go to bed (whatever time that may be, although I’m trying to do better about going to bed at 10 p.m. every night) and then setting a second alarm for 7 minutes later.
7 minutes seems to be the perfect amount of time to snooze for me — not enough time to fall back into a deep sleep but long enough that I don’t feel like I’m just popping out of bed without a chance to wake up.
Not that you needed detailed information about my sleep habits, but all of that got me wondering…
Do you use the snooze button?
Do you have an actual routine, or do you just hit it again and again until you feel like getting up?
How have your sleep habits — and use of the snooze button — changed over the years?
How much sleep do you need a night to feel fully rested?
Looking forward to reading your answers!
