Fall in West Virginia

source: mandiehman on Instagram

Although Sean and I really, really enjoyed our time away for our anniversary, I’ve realized that October is not the best time for traveling. We missed pumpkin patch field trips with two different homeschool groups, had a million commitments to balance before we left and after we got back, and we were really afraid we were going to miss the peak of the fall foliage, which is just amazing in the mountains of West Virginia.

Fortunately, after 5 days in the Charleston, SC area (which we highly, highly recommend as a destination!), and 3 more in Maryland where we celebrated the wedding of Sean’s best friend from high school, we made it back to West Virginia for the peak, and I think it’s the best we’ve seen in a few years.

I say it all the time, but there is rarely a day that goes by that I’m not thankful to live where we do. It’s truly breathtaking in any season, and I hope I never stop appreciating the beauty of it all!

Next week I’m headed to the Allume Conference in Pennsylvania. If you’ll be there, be sure to leave a comment so I’ll know to look for you!

Here are some of my favorite posts from this week. As always, check out what I’m reading to see the other posts that make me stop and think. You’ll find new posts all week long!
