2011 Holiday Gift Guide: Little Kids Gifts {1-4 Years Old}

2011 Holiday Gift Guide: Little Kids Gifts {1-4 Years Old}

In our house, the little ones are the hardest to buy for because they already have all of their big sisters’ hand-me-downs, and they’d rather play with the big kids’ toys most of the time anyway. However, there really are some great toys available, and we’ll pass on some of our gently used toys in order to make room for new ones this Christmas!

The Radio Flyer Classic Walker Wagon is a fun toy for babies and toddlers who are just learning to walk, but even older preschoolers may enjoy it for gathering and hauling their collections. Like all Radio Flyer products, it’s made from quality materials that will last for generations to come!

Although these nature tubes from Wild America are simply little collections of animals, they’re a favorite in our home. The little girls will play with them for hours, making up stories about the animals and taking them on adventures.

Aren’t these owl hats from Elijah’s Cradle Designs the cutest? They’re a fun and quirky addition to your little one’s winter gear, sure to keep them warm without sacrificing cuteness!

My girls absolutely adore Dinosaur Train, and I love that they learn so much about one of their favorite topics — dinosaurs! — while watching. From the Dinosaur Train motorized tunnel set to the Megabloks set and a variety of DVDs and figures, there are tons of options to choose from for Dinosaur Train fans!

Crayola Beginnings Baby Jumbles are fun rubber blocks that fit together to build various shapes and creations. Because they’re soft and easy to grasp, they’re fun for babies, while preschoolers will appreciate the challenge of discovering all the possibilities. These are a favorite in our home!

Pocoyo is the cute new children’s character that’s gaining popularity through TV and videos, which are done in the style of Maisy, while the characters themselves are adorable and appear almost huggable! Pocoyo Swiggle Tracks have been named one of this year’s best toys by Parents.com, and these colorful, flexible tracks allow preschoolers to design and change their track, chase a ball around with the motorized car and more!

From adorable Glowberry Bears to educational Flashcard Friends, The Brainy Store offers a wide variety of toys and lovies for kids of all ages, putting the fun back in learning!

A couple of weeks ago, our 4 year old discovered a GeoTrax set at a friend’s house, and she was obsessed with it. She didn’t want to do anything else because she was having so much fun, and even though we have a wooden train set, there’s just something about an electric train that goes round and round that makes it even more fun. We’re going to surprise our two youngest with this set on Christmas morning, and I can’t wait to see their reactions!

What kid doesn’t love a dump truck? This dump truck is simple and study, and — like all of the Green Toys vehicles — it’s made from recycled milk jugs with no BPA or phosphates. A cute, classic toy that you can feel good about giving!
