{30} Things to Say Yes To

I am counting down the days to my 30th birthday, and I couldn’t be more excited! Truly! As I was brainstorming ways to celebrate here on the blog, I couldn’t help but think that 30 lists of {30} items would be just about perfect for my type-A, list-making self. Join me for the next month as I share the things I’ve learned in the past 30 years and my hopes for the future! See all 30 Days of {30} posts here.

I spent a lot of my 20s learning to say no — to clutter, to expectations from other people, to time wasters, to a “traditional” job, etc.

In the past few months, I’ve noticed a shift in my perspective, a desire to enjoy the simple things in life, to embrace the moment and to soak up all the blessings our crazy life has to offer. I’m learning to say yes to things as well — to a little one who wants to play or cuddle again, even when I’m in the middle of something, to pulling off the road to admire God’s creation, to just being  instead of doing.

30-days-of-30

Today I’m sharing 30 things that I think we — you and I — should practice saying yes to. These won’t happen every day, but when the opportunity presents itself, I don’t want to miss out. And I don’t want you to miss out either!

1. Dancing in the rain.

2. Reading one more book at bedtime.

3. Asking for help.

4. Trying new things.

5. Sleeping in every once in a while.

6. Ice cream for dinner.

7. Making new friends.

8. Sex with your husband. {Oh, yes, I said it.}
