5-Day Challenge: Declutter 25 Things

Each week here at Life Your Way, we focus on one five-day challenge. The challenges will take place on a different channel each week and include small, measurable goals to help you improve your life.

This week’s challenge is to start preparing for the busy holiday season by decluttering your home.

As we head into the busy season of baking, gift making, shopping and family gatherings, clutter and disorganization can lead to unnecessary stress and distract from the celebration of the holidays.

Take some time now to declutter so that you can focus on the holidays in November and December.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Sort through the toys. Make room for new toys by donating sets that your children have outgrown or just don’t play with.
  • Clean up the kitchen. Declutter kitchen drawers and cabinets so that you can more easily find the things you need during marathon baking sessions or holiday meal preparations.
  • Declutter your knick knacks. Before you start pulling out your holiday decorations, take some time to declutter your knick knacks. Remember that the less you have, the less you have to clean and dust!
  • Clean out the closets. If you’re switching out your seasonal wardrobes anyway, take some time to declutter articles of clothing that you don’t really wear. Being able to easily find the pieces you love will make it easier to dress your best.

Your challenge this week, should you choose to accept it, is to declutter at least 25 things from your home.
