Spring is finally getting into full swing with clear blue skies, blooming flowers, warm sunshine, and budding trees that brighten the day after such a long, dreary, snowy winter. The pollen on the other hand isn’t so nice, but it comes with the territory. As Spring brings new life to nature, it is a wonderful, inspiring time to update and brighten our living spaces!
My 5 Simple Ways To Decorate For Spring will equip you to decorate in a flash, so you can move on to the next thing!
Before decorating your home for Spring, begin by tidying up those pesky areas that collect clutter. Mail, bills, magazines and newspapers are notorious for junking up counter tops, kitchen or dining room tables and living room end tables.
Clean it up. Clear it out!
De-cluttering is the most inexpensive Spring decorating tip ever – it’s free except for a few minutes of your time! Spring is the perfect time to deep clean clutter-collecting areas as well, so if you have time, do it!
2. Use flowers.
Nothing says “Spring” like a beautiful vase of flowers. I love that flowers are easy to find and inexpensive to boot. Whether you use cut flowers or potted flowering plants, flowers with color will cheer up any space!
Tulips, daffodils, daisies and hyacinths are beautiful possibilities for centerpieces, side table arrangements or for decorating a mantel! Fresh fruit arranged in bowls or vases is another fabulous way to add a punch of color to your Spring decor.
3. Change up accessories.
Brighten neutral furniture with bold, colorful, funky throw pillows. Switch up your wall art, throw blankets, books and magazines to those that bring in Spring color tones.
Have fun with accessories. They are the jewelry of your home, so don’t be afraid to think outside the box!
4. Open curtains, blinds and windows.
Let sunshine pour in! One of my favorite things is to open all of my curtains, shades and blinds each morning. Nothing wakes me up like the sun!
Fresh air inside your home is a must in the Spring. It purifies stale air, replenishes oxygen and, in my opinion, boosts spirits! Also, great ventilation in your home will decrease radon buildup, so open your windows for health’s sake!
5. Grow wheat grass
Wheat grass is easy to grow in a pot on your kitchen counter. It only takes a few days to sprout and then you trim as needed. Small decorative containers of grass will Spring-up your home in no time. Even for those with the brownest of thumbs, growing wheat grass is virtually fail-proof!
Implement these simple Spring decorating tips and enjoy less cluttered, bright, happy and lively Spring decor!
