A couple of years ago, my New Year’s Resolution was to be more feminine. I’m proud of the fact that I don’t feel like I need to put makeup on every single day and that I’m not really high maintenance (at least not when it comes to my appearance, ha!), but I’d taken that idea a little far. Since I work & live at home in the boonies and really only leave the house a couple times a week, I realized I was stuck in a rut of little to no accessories that left me feeling kind of drab.
My baby sister (who got all of my mom’s fashion genes) was staying with us for a week at one point, and she came down looking all cute and collegiate in a hooded sweatshirt. I mentioned that I wished I could pull off that casual look and not feel like a bum, and she said, “You could! You just need earrings!” It was then that I realized the power of a tiny accessory, and these days I almost always put on earrings and a necklace, even when I’m just hanging out at home.
As moms, most of us aren’t trying to compete with super models, but taking a little time to accesorize our favorite outfits can make a big difference! With a lot of input from my mom, sister and Jo-Lynne at Musings of a Housewife because of my aforementioned lack of style, here are my favorite accessories for the fall:
1. Hair Accessories.
