On May 24th, Life Your Way will be hosting the Ultimate Blog Swap!
We all know that one of the best ways to network and draw new readers to your site is to guest post on other blogs or invite guest bloggers to yours. The hard part, though, is writing a guest post usually means writing an extra post, and if you already have a full editorial calendar, it may be one of those things on your “someday” list that you don’t do as often as you’d like.
The idea behind the Blog Swap is that you’ll be guest posting on one blog and someone else will be posting on yours, so you’ll meet lots of new readers without having to write an extra post!
So how will this work?
We’ll randomly assign Blog Swap participants by category, which means that we won’t be matching blogs for size, only for topic. But, because there will be three blogs involved in each swap, chances are that you’ll end up working with two bloggers from different-size blogs and it will all even out in the end. And even if it doesn’t, it’s a good opportunity to switch things up and meet new bloggers!
Each post will include an introduction like this:
Today I’m participating in the Ultimate Blog Swap. You’ll find me posting over at {Momma’s ABC Blog} about {how to eliminate the laundry monster}, and I’m excited to welcome {Erin from Cooking for Dummies} to {My Site}:
In this way, there will be plenty of traffic sharing all around, and readers will get to discover a lot of new blogs as well!
But how can you guarantee quality?
The shorter answer is that we can’t guarantee the quality of the post you’ll receive for your blog. However, all posts will need to be sent one week in advance, which will give you plenty of time to review posts ahead of time. If you decide that you can’t post it on your site, we’ll do our best to replace it.
In my experience, guest posters usually spend a lot more time and energy on the posts they write for other sites than they do on posts on their own site, so I don’t expect that that will happen very many times!
