Are you looking to add some extra texture to your home decor? Maybe you’ve been on the lookout for a nightstand or side table accessory. Decorating with “vintage” book bundles is an excellent way to add character and texture, however, buying ready-made book bundles is not cheap. Creating a vintage book bundle is an easy, frugal project that anyone can do!
- Books – I love finding books to decorate with at thrift stores and yard sales.
- Jute Twine
- Embellishment for the top
Begin by tearing the binding off the books. The older the books are, the better the torn off binding will look. Next, stack the books in the order that you prefer.
I turned the middle book around so the pages side could show. It adds a nice dimension to the two other books.
Prepare the embellishment that you want to add to the top. I’ve seen old postcards, scrapbook paper, black and white photographs and more used to embellish the top of a book bundle. The possibilities are endless.
Wrap jute twine around the middle of the book stack. You can wrap as much or as little as you like. You can also wrap across the books the other way. Do whatever you prefer!
When you are finished wrapping, tie the jute twine in a knot or bow. Add the embellishment. And voila, you created a “vintage” book bundle in less than five minutes!
What is your favorite inexpensive accessory?
