In order to set a realistic goal for January, we’ve already broken a bigger goal down into small milestones, but it’s still important to celebrate “mini” milestones along the way.
What successes have you had this month? Have you woken up early to work on your goal? Exercised several days in a row? Completed a task that moves you closer to your final goal?
No matter what that mini milestone is, don’t be afraid to celebrate it and give yourself a pat on the pack! As Mia Hamm says, you don’t want to settle for that milestone and lose site of your ultimate goal but rather stick it in your back pocket so you can pull it out as needed for a little encouragement along the way.
It’s important to keep your eye on the prize, but rather than getting discouraged by how far away the finish line seems, celebrate each little step in the right direction. They really do make a difference!
