101 Days of Christmas: DIY Christmas Gift Tags

Gift wrapping is one of my favorite parts of the holiday season. I love creating beautiful packages. Yes, they totally get torn apart, but it is so fun to receive a thoughtfully wrapped gift complete with a lovely bow and gift tag. It is so easy to make your own gift tags, and they are so much cuter than the sticky ones you can buy at the store.

Supplies:

  • old Christmas cards
  • brown cardstock rectangles {I found 25 for $2 at Hobby Lobby.}
  • scissors
  • hole punch
  • glue or hot glue gun
  • trim, ribbon, baker’s twine

Directions:

Cut old Christmas cards in various shapes. Using the brown cardstock as a base, decorate each one with trim, ribbon and card pieces. I prefer using hot glue because it’s fast and easy, but if you prefer another glue, that works too.

Cut two angles on one end of each cardstock rectangle to give it a “tag-like” appearance.

Punch a hole through each tag. Thread baker’s twine or ribbon through the hole and attach to a pretty package.

Your friends and family are sure to be impressed with these adorable diy gift tags!
