Because we decorate so early for Christmas, we’ve never really decorated our home for fall. This year, we haven’t even put up our annual porch display (#6) because we haven’t gotten around to buying hay or pumpkins! That said, there are so many great ideas on Pinterest for fall decor — from fall wreaths and table centerpieces to accessories and mantle displays — that I’m really thinking about breaking from tradition next year and decorating for fall!

Add a simple ruffled felt garland to your mantel with this easy tutorial from Myra at My Blessed Life. This would be adorable in any color for any season, but I love the bright orange she used!

These découpage pumpkins make a pretty and unexpected centerpiece or display. Start with faux pumpkins in a variety of colors and choose fabric or scrapbook paper designs that match your decor for truly custom pieces!

Although the original version of this project was actually a spring tree, I think it would be perfect in fall colored papers as well! This is a fun, easy and inexpensive project that will bring a splash of color into your home in any season.

A cornucopia, or horn of plenty, is a traditional Thanksgiving symbol to celebrate the bounty of the harvest. We typically see cornucopia filled with colorful varieties of veggies, but I really love the simplicity of this more neutral version.

We usually create a simple display for our front porch using corn stalks, hay bales, pumpkins and this “family” of scarecrows to match our own family. It’s nothing spectacular or fancy, but it’s a cozy way to welcome visitors to our home!

This may be my most favorite idea of all, both for its simplicity and its beauty. Gently carve a small hole in the top of an apple (preferably one with a flat bottom!) and insert a tea light. How simple is that?

Mix pumpkins in a variety of materials, colors, and finishes for an elegant display. I especially love the silver ones!

Combine white pumpkins and contrasting pine cones in a vase or bowl for a subtle touch of fall. This is perfect for rooms in neutral tones or with bright colors that might otherwise clash with traditional fall colors!
