I love companies that are on a mission to make the world a better place!

Children Inspire Design, one such company, has such a beautiful mission — that’s translated into incredibly beautiful and inspiring designs — and I’m excited to introduce you to them today:

Children Inspire Design is a product line of modern, eco-friendly and culturally diverse wall art, wall cards and posters, full of whimsy, and designed to help children learn compassion for our earth and all who inhabit it. Artist, mother and social entrepreneur, Rebecca Peragine, has combined her passion for global design with her desire to inspire children to celebrate eco-consciousness and the beauty of different world cultures.

children-inspire-designEnvironmental education is at the heart of each design. Every image literally starts out as a pile of scrap papers from old magazines and other post-consumer paper sources. Rebecca then creates her signature art piece by piece by tearing the pieces of paper, assembling them according to their vibrant colors and drawing inspiration from her imagination and the “life” that each piece embodies. Many of the magazines she uses are written in other languages, thereby imbuing the art with the spirit of that language and the people it represents. Through this approach, the concepts of recycling and world appreciation are ever present.

Rebecca firmly believes that if we teach the importance of global responsibility at a young age, carrying that responsibility into the future will be second nature for our children.

Inspire children. Change the world.

Rebecca was kind enough to send me some of her products so I could see the quality and design for myself, and I absolutely can’t wait for my oldest girls to find the “I am an artist” journal and “Hello” notecards in their stockings on Christmas morning!

We also received a set of these recycled paper bird ornaments from Rebecca’s One Mother to Another fair-trade initiative, which works with mothers in Haiti and Mexico to provide economic opportunity and independence to women around the world. The birds are absolutely gorgeous, and I love having them on the tree in our kitchen where they add color, make us smile and remind us how blessed we are!

In addition to the printed products, Children Inspire Design also offers a wide variety of printable banners for $10 to help you celebrate the little people in your life!
