While all of our kids enjoy arts and crafts, our 5-year-old is the real artist. She spends hours at the breakfast bar drawing, cutting, pasting, painting and creating. Lately, she has been asking to take an art class, and we’ve been trying to work that into our schedule, which can be tough when you have four little ones and live 45 minutes from “town”.
I was so excited to discover See the Light‘s new DVD curriculum, Art Class, featuring art teacher and master artist Pat Knepley. This art class is simple enough for young children to follow along without diluting the quality of the curriculum. The 9-disk set includes 36 progressive art tutorials that incorporate art history appreciation as well as Biblical truths.
What makes this curriculum even more amazing is that it requires only the basic art supplies, and each lesson is just 15 to 20 minutes long!
While I was first drawn to this set specifically for our five-year-old, I also think it would make a wonderful addition to our curriculum. It fits well with the philosophy of Leigh Bortins, the founder of the Classical Conversations curriculum that we use, and it’s small enough chunks to incorporate into our weekly lesson plan.
See the Light is giving two lucky Life Your Way readers each a copy Art Class Volume 1, which includes lessons 1-4!
To enter, leave me a comment and tell me how you incorporate art in your curriculum (if you’re a homeschooler) or what your type of art your kids most enjoy!
This giveaway ends at 5 p.m. EST on Monday, 4/4 . The winners will be selected randomly and notified by email, and this post will be updated with their name as well.
