7-Day Real Food Challenge

Our family does not eat “perfectly” by any stretch. We still grab fast food when we’re on the road. We enjoy sweet treats. And sometimes an easy meal is more important to mama’s sanity that cooking from scratch.

But we continue to learn more, try new things and look for ways to eat better, which for us means moving toward a real food/whole food diet.

I love a good challenge to help me stretch my skills and thinking, and I’m really excited about the 7-Day Real Food Challenge, hosted by Roxanne from The Holistic Mama, which is coming up in January!

Do you think you can eat only real food for 7 days straight?

To some of you this might sound nearly impossible, and some of you may be thinking, “I already do.” This challenge is designed to help those of us who really want to live the real food lifestyle but might need a little guidance to get started or take it to the next level. This challenge is also for all of us who have already figured it out but have fallen off the bandwagon. Let’s face it: it’s not easy to stay on a healthy real food diet this time of year. The holidays bring a lot of stress and added to-do list items which can take time away from your healthy routine. Not to mention, the holiday gatherings that are full of unhealthy food temptations.

What is the 7-Day Real Food Challenge?

The 7-Day Real Food Challenge is a pact to eat only real food for 7 days, specifically from January 6, 2103 through January 12, 2013 (the perfect way to start the new year!). There are 11 bloggers who have committed to this challenge and are here as a support team for everyone who joins us, including:

Option #1 (Free)

Join us and make the commitment to eat only real food for 7 days starting on January 6 – January 12, 2013. You will receive:

Option #2 ($29)

If you want to get really serious about this challenge and take full advantage of the support you can get from this group, this option is for you. Making a big lifestyle change can be difficult on your own but with a huge group of people doing it along with you it is a lot easier…and a lot more fun! The recipes and meal plan included in this package are all real food recipes including animal protein, vegetables, and small amounts of grain. It is also specifically designed for winter to  include warming foods that are seasonally appropriate. With that being said, this doesn’t mean that if you live in a warm climate it won’t work, the foods are still healthy real food recipes that are comforting and nutritious.

The plan and recipes require basic kitchen tools. I strongly recommend having a crock pot for this challenge, many of the recipes in the challenge are made for the crock pot – and it makes the whole plan work very well. If you don’t have one already, it’s the perfect time to ask for one from Santa.
