This recipe for oven-baked french fries, which I first saw over at Joy the Baker, is one of our favorite side dishes for everything from burgers and hot dogs to baked chicken. They’re super easy and so, so yummy!
- 2 medium russet potatoes
- olive oil
- italian seasoning
- kosher salt
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Spread 1 teaspoon of oil on the baking sheet with a paper towel to keep the potatoes from sticking.
Scrub potatoes well and slice them lengthwise into 1/3″ thick slices. Then slice those into thin strips. Place on the baking sheet and drizzle with 2 tablespoons of oil and toss to coat.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, tossing them every 10 minutes so that they brown evenly. Once they’re browned on all sides, remove them from the oven and toss with salt and italian seasoning.
I’m sure you could make these with a variety of seasonings, but we like these so much that we’ve never tried any other!
