Question of the Day: Tricks for Remembering Your Reusable Shopping Bags?

Tips for Remembering Your Reusable Shopping Bags
source: martijn.munneke

I have so many reusable shopping bags that they’re overflowing in my closet. And yet, I still regularly take piles of plastic grocery bags back to the store to be recycled. Three years after I bought my first set of reusable bags, I still can’t remember to take them with me when I go to the store, and that’s just a little bit embarrassing to admit. Only a little bit, though, because I know I’m not the only one!

The one thing that I’ve found to be most effective, although not foolproof, is to keep the bags with my purse. I hang my purse from a hanger in our front coat closet, and I’m 10 times as likely to remember the bags if I hang them there after I unload them. I have more success keeping them there than in the car because I tend to forget about them if they’re not right in front of me, but if they’re with my purse, I can keep them together and then I remember to take them into the store.

So today I want to know…

What is your trick for remembering your reusable shopping bags?

Do you still forget them sometimes, or do you use them close to 100% of the time?

Do you use your bags for all shopping trips or just grocery shoppin?

If you don’t use reusable shopping bags, why not?

Looking forward to reading your tips!
