This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Upromise by Sallie Mae for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

It’s been a long time since I’ve looked into the tools that Upromise offers families who are looking to save money for college through cash back programs, but there are really so many great opportunities that our family should be taking advantage as we look at the possibility of 5 college kids at some point in our future!

Upromise is free to join, and to-date, members have received more than $750 million in cash back!

While they offer grocery coupons, restaurant rewards and more, my favorite tool is the RewardsU toolbar, which lets you earn 5% cash back on purchases made at popular retail partners such as Target, Apple, Best Buy, Macy’s and Old Navy. Because of the distance we live from “town”, we do a lot of our shopping online!

The RewardsU toolbar is easy to install on your internet browser and will automatically remind you when cash back is available at an online site so that you can activate your rewards! In addition, the handy coupon tool shows you the special offers available for that site so that you don’t have to go hunting for them, which saves you even more. Cash back is automatically deposited in your account within 10-15 days.

For example, I wanted to get a few more aden + anais Burpy Bibs because these are thick, versatile burp cloths / bibs that I know we’re going to use regularly when our new baby arrives, so I headed to to make the purchase. I clicked the button to activate my cash back reward, and while there weren’t any other coupons I could use, I like knowing that that purchase added money to our college savings, without any more work on my part!

Earn even more when you use the Upromise credit card! Money earned through Upromise can be put in a 529 college savings plan, put towards student loans, deposited in a Sallie Mae savings account, or you can get a check.

Try it now and start building your Upromise earnings!
