I am a huge fan of shopping online. There’s nothing more frustrating that dragging my four girls from store to store — unbuckling them and then buckling them back in each time — in search of the perfect gift or something specific that we need. Thanks to the internet, I can avoid all of that frustration and just shop from home!
The only problem? Concerns about the security of credit cards and the danger of having your card number stolen and used. I’ve actually had that happen, and the hassle of getting charges removed and waiting for a new card are almost as bad as dragging the kids into a real store!
Thankfully, Visa has the perfect solution — a secure checkout system called V.me that allows you to check out without entering your card information. Pretty cool, right?
Here’s how it works:
1. Register at V.me. You can add a single debit or credit card or multiple cards to give yourself more options when paying for items. Choose from any Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover credit or debit card!
2. Shop at a participating site. The V.me service is currently available at a select number of retailers but keep checking back as new stores are added.
3. Click on the Checkout with V.me by Visa button. You’ll then be prompted to log into your V.me account and verify your security question before being directed to choose a payment account.
V.me by Visa will process your payment and pay the merchant directly so your card information won’t be shared with anyone.
Because of Visa’s experience in handling sensitive information, they use advanced security technologies to protect your information, including encryption and multilayer authentication.
As an added benefit, shopping online just got a little easier too because you no longer have to have your card with you or enter the card number each time; you can simply log into your V.me account and pay from there! It’s simple and secure.
