Support your local school with the Tyson Project A+™ program

I mentioned the convenience and taste of Tyson® Grilled and Ready® Chicken Breast Strips last week (and actually, I realized after I posted that my husband thought these were homemade chicken strips…he kept complimenting me on how tasty they were!), and we’ve enjoyed using them to complete quick and easy lunches during the week—served with couscous and veggies or made into a chicken sub.

But there’s another side to these as well, and that’s their inclusion in the Tyson Project A+™ program. Through this program, you can actually support your local school by collecting the labels and giving them to your school. For each label the school collects and submits to the Tyson Project A+™ program, they’ll receive $0.24.

I was excited to see Greenwood Mill Elementary in Winchester, Virginia on the list of participating schools. Our church has partnered with several local schools not just to host a week of VBS each summer in their building but to really support them throughout the year, and this is another way we can help them!

Schools can use the money from the program wherever they need it—for their arts & music program, to buy books, for computers and technology, or even for sports equipment. This allows schools to invest in the programs that they know are important to their students rather than getting stuck with things they may or may not actually need.

Right now, you can also head to Walmart.com to nominate your school for a head start in the Tyson Project A+™ program. Share why your school needs help, and the winning school will receive a packet of labels worth $1,000!

And of course, be on the lookout for other Tyson Project A+™ participating products. The Grilled and Ready® Chicken Breast Strips aren’t the only product available (although they might just be the tastiest!).
