The Cleaning Power of Baking Soda

Clean Your Sink with Baking Soda

A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned that I’d gotten out of the habit of using baking soda as part of my cleaning routine.

Our sink had a hard water film on it that we were having trouble getting off, and I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to put Arm & Hammer Baking Soda to the test.

Because I knew I’d need the scouring power of the baking soda, I sprinkled a layer of it across the entire surface of the sink.

I then wet my sponge, doused it with vinegar and began scrubbing.

Because our sink appeared clean already — the film really just gave the surface a rough, dirty feel — it was hard to tell if it was working while I was scrubbing, but I was excited to rinse it off and find that the surface was smooth and really, truly clean.

We were also having an issue with a stinky trash can, so I cleaned it with vinegar and water and then sprinkled baking soda in the base, hoping to eliminate the smell, and — thankfully — it worked.

I love versatile products like this that can be used for cooking, cleaning and even for summertime fun!
