Walmart 12 Days of Giving

This holiday season, Walmart is giving away $1.5 million in grants to local charities in order to make a measurable impact in local communities by providing basic items like food, diapers and formula and cold-weather clothing to those in need.

Through the 12 Days of Giving campaign, you can make a difference in your community as well by nominating you favorite favorite local nonprofit on Facebook before November 18th. On December 12th, Walmart will launch 12 Days of Giving on their Facebook page, announcing funding for various nonprofits during each day of the campaign!

I nominated The Laurel Center, a local women’s shelter that provides emergency housing, advocacy, support services and education to victims of domestic and sexual violence. I cannot even imagine living with violence or the fear of violence against myself or my children, and I am so thankful for the work that The Laurel Center does to rescue and protect women in our community from those circumstances.

In order to nominate your favorite local charity, you’ll just need the charity name, contact information, website URL and an optional photo or logo. Then log into Facebook and submit that information through the 12 Days of Giving app. It takes just a few minutes and is a great way to bring additional funding to your community and the needs around you!

Go nominate your favorite charity, and then come back and tell us who you nominated and why; I’d love to hear about the charities that are impacting your community!
