I often get asked if my house is always clean. The short answer is no. During a typical day, there are toys spread across the main level, dishes piled in the sink, pillows and blankets haphazardly tossed on the couch and lots of general clutter. We try to clean up every evening together to ensure a fresh start each morning, but during the day we’re not too picky about how messy it gets.

That’s a typical day, so now — with my husband working on a 101 house projects in a desperate attempt to finally finish construction on our three-and-a-half year old home — our home is a bit of a disaster. There’s a nice coating of drywall and saw dust on pretty much everything, tools spread from one end of the house to another and piles of baby items that we’re in the process of giving away. I’m handling it okay…for now, but we’re gonna have to do some major cleaning and straightening soon or I might have a meltdown!

The picture above has nothing whatsoever to do with the aforementioned construction; I’m just so in love with that little girl I can hardly stand it!

Below are some of my favorite posts from the week. As always, check out what I’m reading to see the other posts that make me stop and think. You’ll find new posts all week long!
