Weekend Reading: July 23, 2011

record-breaking temperatures
record-breaking temperatures

Although we don’t have any big vacation plans this summer (gotta save our pennies for Disney in the fall!), we did plan a weekend trip to Philly to visit a few of the museums that have been on our bucket list, including the Adventure Aquarium, Natural History Museum and the Please Touch museum.

Yesterday we started at the Adventure Aquarium, and being able to pet sharks — even if “they have flat teeth because they’re herbivores,” according to my almost-7 year old — was definitely a highlight of the day. Today we’ll be doing a dig for dinosaur bones, learning about clouds and electricity and more. Pretty fun stuff!

Now, if only this heat wave would break, it’d be perfect!

Here are some of my favorite posts from around the blogosphere this week. As always, check out what I’m reading to see the other posts that make me stop and think. You’ll find new posts all week long!
