Weekend Reading: March 10, 2012

dune buggy racer

This week our second daughter turned six. I don’t remember six feeling like a big jump for our oldest — unlike seven, which felt huge — but six this time around feels like a big deal. A really big deal.

Our sweet girl is growing up before our eyes, and it’s bittersweet for sure! As a baby, she wouldn’t let me out of her sight and stayed attached to my hip almost until the day her baby sister was born 18 months later. She can still be pretty quiet and reserved around strangers, but there’s another side of her that we’re seeing more and more often these days, and she may just end up being a loud, goofy class clown down the road!

She’s been wishing for a car of her own since she rode in a friend’s last year, and all of the grandparents pitched in to get her a dune buggy for her birthday. She couldn’t be happier, and I kind of like the one big gift instead of a dozen little ones myself. A win-win for everyone!

Here are some of my favorite posts from this week. As always, check out what I’m reading to see the other posts that make me stop and think. You’ll find new posts all week long!
