Weekend Reading: November 10, 2012

Afternoon Reading Time
source: mandiehman on Instagram

This week we instituted a new evening reading time as part of our daily routine, and I’m loving it! The girls sit and read/look through books quietly by themselves, or the big girls will read to their little sisters, which is enough to make my heart want to burst!

It’s also been good for our school schedule because I’m no longer worrying about trying to get individual reading practice done during the morning since we have this afternoon time set aside.

The other thing I’ve noticed is that if we declare reading time when they start to get bored and frustrated with one another, they area almost always energized and ready to go play happily once it’s done, so it really has been good in more ways than one!

Here are some of my favorite posts from this week. As always, check out what I’m reading to see the other posts that make me stop and think. You’ll find new posts all week long!
