Weekly Reads

So…I had this post written and ready to go, and then WordPress ate it. At the moment, I’m frustrated and not at all inspired to rewrite it, but I do want to get it up so that you can submit your links and books as well, so excuse the short reviews below.

Head here to see Katie’s post for this week. We also want to know what you’re reading! Add your blog post to the linky below or leave a comment with your favorite reads from this week.

This Week’s Reads

Fever by Lauren DeStefanoSever by Lauren DeStefano

Fever and Sever by Lauren DeStefano

I read Wither last year and hadn’t continued the series because I found the first book kind of depressing, but I was inspired by Christine’s review of Sever a couple weeks ago to finally finish these. Fever painted a bleak picture, and I was honestly questioning my decision to keep reading the series, but I loved Sever — including all of the plot twists — and I was glad I stuck with it!

Trauma Plan by Candace Calvert

Trauma Plan (Grace Medical) by Candace Calvert

While trying to avoid Mere Christianity last week, I picked up Trauma Plan free for the Kindle. I love medical dramas, but I went into this one with low expectations because you never know what to expect from Kindle freebies. That said, I actually really enjoyed it. The characters were believable and relatable, the plot line contained plenty of suspense and romance, and the main character’s faith was woven naturally into the story rather than coming across as a Bible tract. Looking forward to reading others by Candace Calvert in the future!

On My Reading List for This Week

With my morning sickness increasing from day-to-day, I’m having trouble picking up nonfiction to read, and Mere Christianity may just have to wait until this stage passes. I’d love to find a new dystopian series to read, but I’ve read all of the ones on my wishlist; what other series would you recommend?
