When was the last time that you had a cup of coffee for the first time? If it takes you longer than two seconds to remember, then you need to try something new – like trying a new flavor.

For centuries people loved their coffee served hot, but in fact – some do like it cold. There are only a few things that can easily freshen you up and boost your energy at the same time during the hot summer days – and coffee on ice is one of those super-powerful drinks that can bring that love to life instantly.

Iced Coffee Vs. Regular Coffee

As warm weather slowly takes over, everyone’s mind is on iced coffee. But… Did you know that iced coffee is essentially just regular coffee?

It may sound shocking, but it’s the truth. Iced coffee is a regular coffee that’s cooled down and served over ice. Does this mean that the coffee is brewed cold? No.

The coffee is brewed hot using one of many methods to do so, and then quickly cooled down and poured over ice.

You can also make it easily at home – you just need coffee and ice: it can be made fast by pouring hot coffee directly over ice.

Basically, there is no big difference between iced and regular coffee. However, if you want indeed to try something new, and add flavor to coffee taste, then you should try cold brew coffee – this is for you if you want to taste the difference and experience a drink that’s made completely different.

Here is why cold brew coffee should be your ultimate choice.

Cold Brew

Cold-brew lovers know that this taste comes thanks to time. Medium-to-coarse ground coffee beans are placed in room temperature water for a minimum of 12 hours or longer for stronger flavor.

It’s never exposed to heat, unlike regular coffee. Cold-brew tastes less bitter and has a smoother taste, more chocolatey, opposite to traditional coffee. If you prefer a mellow coffee taste, cold brew is for you.

Iced Coffee

Iced coffee is made by using a more traditional method – the hot coffee brew method. Iced coffee may sound unusual and complicated, but in fact, making it is super easy and fast.

The reason for this lies in the fact that iced coffee is basically hot coffee that has been cooled down and poured over ice.

Could an iced coffee that you are drinking today at your favorite coffee shop basically be leftover? Yes, but let’s hope that coffee and moral ethics does not allow shops to do this.

Iced coffee is a great choice for those who want to taste coffee but don’t like strong coffee flavor.

Simply said, iced coffee is easier for some people to handle. Plus, you can make it in like one minute, which makes it more than practical.

What Other Types of Coffee Drinks Are There?

If you want to really step out of your comfort zone, you should think about exploring new coffee areas. Have you ever had a cup of Turkish coffee?

Are you familiar with Vietnamese coffee that can be made with French roast coffee? If you are an espresso fan, make sure that you try cappuccino or espresso macchiato. For milk lovers, there is always a cup of latte.
