What to Wear at Beach Resorts

Summer is just around the corner, ladies, and I know we’re all dying for some sand, sun, and a break from the everyday mumbo-jumbo! If you’re anything like me, you’ll want to pamper yourself with some clean ocean air and a trip to a nice beach resort. Many of us have been stuck in our homes or at our day jobs for far too long. It’s time to get out there and have some fun!

After scouring the internet for hours looking at crystal clear oceans and little fruity drinks with umbrellas on top, you’ve settled on your destination of choice. And now the fun part begins: deciding what to wear!

Finding beach clothing for women doesn’t have to be complicated. You can find simple pieces that you can work into your everyday life and pieces that you can take with you to a luxurious beach resort!

Things to Keep in Mind:

Remember to look for colors and prints that speak to you. They can be fun and brightly colored if that’s something that you love to wear, or they can be more subdued or pale. It’s really up to you and your style.

You’re on the right track as long as you avoid heavy clothing like sweaters and long-sleeved dresses. I’d also avoid colors like could be mistaken for winter or spring tones. Burnt orange, brown, and olive green are generally not considered beachy colors. Bold prints, neutral blues or pinks, and clean pastels are colors that will pop at any fabulous beach resort.

I also recommend looking for fabrics that breathe well and have a lot of movement. Flowy dresses or shirts will catch the cool beach breeze and help you cool off. With so many fun activities to try, you want to make sure you’re wearing something that moves with you and won’t make you sweat! Where to Start Your Search:

For starters, raid your closet!

You’ll probably find that you have a lot of pieces perfect for warm and breezy beach weather. Look for short sleeve tops and tank tops that are light and flowy. It’ll be warm at most beach resorts, so you want to stay cool. You might even have a flowy skirt or dress that matches a pair of shoes you’ve been dying to wear since you bought them! Try matching men’s swim trunks swimwear for your partner to match you. Take your time and carefully select one or two outfits you can easily take with you.

Once you know what you have and don’t have in your closet, make a list of things you need to buy. For instance, maybe you have plenty of junky summer tees that would be perfect for sleeping in or wearing while hiking the mountains around your resort. That’s one thing off your list that you don’t need.

However, you might discover that your favorite summer dress from last season has a rip or stain. That sucks, but don’t panic! Just add it to your list, and I promise you’ll find a new dress that tears at your heartstrings just as much as your old one!

Hit the Shelves!

Once your list is finished and you’re ready to shop, get ready to have some fun! There are two ways to shop: online and in person. It doesn’t matter which method you choose, as long as you find cute, stylish, and comfortable pieces you’ll love for your trip.

Add everything you love to the cart if you decide to shop online. Once you’ve finished browsing, take a look at your cart as a whole. You may want to envision yourself wearing each piece on the beach or at the resort. This is a great way to whittle your cart down.

For example, you might’ve picked a cute little black dress to add to your cart. While it’s adorable, you can see yourself wearing it. It’s probably not a dress to wear at a hot, beachfront resort. Remove it from your cart, and keep scrolling through your list of added items until you’ve whittled it down to just a few pieces.

Now, if you decide to do your shopping in person, it’s pretty much the same routine. Add everything to your shopping cart and head to your nearest changing room. Instead of using your imagination, you’ll get to see yourself in the clothes in real-time. If you don’t love something or can’t see yourself wearing it on the beach, throw it out until you have just enough pieces to complete your list.

It’s that easy!

Don’t Be Afraid to Have Fun!

Don’t forget to add a couple of staple pieces to your resort wear. A large beach hat, black sunglasses, and a swim coverup will make you feel like a movie star. A pair of wedge sandals and tanning lotion will only add to its luxury too!

That’s one of the perks of resort wear many people forget about. You can wear pieces that might’ve been too extravagant at your local public pool. Resort wear is meant to be over the top and flashy. It’s your vacation! Be as extravagant as you want to be! You’ll never see the people you meet there again!

The most important aspect of going away on vacation is feeling good and having fun! As long as you feel good and are empowered by what you wear, you’re doing resort wear right!
