How Mompreneurs Become a Success

Mompreneurs are nothing to squawk at because they are daring, strong, and fierce. They do not let anything or anyone get in their way of achieving success.

This is not to say they do not have struggles. Mompreneurs have a lot of struggles:

  • Managing a household AND clients.
  • Compromising sleep to finish work.
  • Putting everyone else’s needs in front of their own not once and a while but all the time.

Many times, these mompreneurs feel like failures. Yes, despite all they do on a daily basis they don’t feel they are a success. They still want to do more, but don’t believe they can because of all the demands they have on them.

It’s likely if you are one of these moms and entrepreneurs, you know exactly what this feels like. You know you do a lot, but it’s just not enough. You want to do more because you have a vision of what success is and you’re not quite there yet.

So, how can you finally become the success you crave? Keep reading.

#1: Make a commitment.

Tell yourself you WILL find success. You WILL achieve it.

You may have said this before or just today, but this time you really mean it.

#2: Create the vision of success.

You have it in your mind, but that’s not good enough. You need to put it on paper, a whiteboard, your computer, iPad, phone, or whatever you want.

Identify what success is, what it feels like, and what it looks like. Be as detailed as possible. The more detailed you are, the easier it will be to identify you’ve achieved success later.

#3: Plan it with hard deadlines.

What do you have to do achieve that success in #2? Write down and plan it with hard deadlines.

A hard deadline is one you don’t push out. You don’t say to yourself, “It’s okay, I can do that next week.” There is no next week with a hard deadline. It is the day that you have set and that is it.

Remember that commitment you made in #1? This is where it comes into play again. Make the commitment to keep your hard deadlines.

#4: Consider your personal life.

This is not a highway with no exits. Your personal life will keep you moving forward in your professional life. This means while you’re on the highway to success, you need to take some exits.

These exits include taking care of your spouse, children and other loved ones. You can take these exits throughout the day, but sometimes, you will need to stay on the highway to get to your destination sooner.

Don’t miss too many exits, though. If you do, you’ll get tired and run out of gas.

#5: Fill up with self-care.

As you’re taking exits for loved ones, don’t forget exits for yourself. You need to care for yourself or you will burn out.

Burnout is highly common among mompreneurs. They truly have too much going on and they fail to take care of themselves. Don’t let this be you.

Do just one thing every single day for yourself. This will protect you from the getting knocked down.

Taking It to the Next Level by Hustling Harder and Faster

Now you know what you must do to get you on the highway of success and stay on it, but what else is there to take you to the next level? Well, here it is – it’s time to hustle harder and faster.

You work from home. This is where you do your best work, but that doesn’t mean you should stay at home all the time.

Getting out into the community will help you grow your network and business.

  • Get unique business cards and pass them out to as many people as you can.
  • When you see a bulletin board at Panera Bread or Starbucks, pin your business cards there.
  • Don’t be afraid to talk to people. Be upbeat, smile, say hello.
  • Attend events in your community because that’s where the movers and shakers are that can help you.
  • Make yourself known by creating your own events.
  • Get a business card reader app for your iPhone

business cards

Many mompreneurs who read the above are probably thinking they are doomed right now because they may not be as extroverted as they believe they need to be. The good news is that you don’t have to outgoing to do all of it. Handing out business cards is something you do when you feel the person would benefit from your services or products. This is after you’ve already started talking to them. You don’t have to do anything special to pin business cards at places. Sure, introducing yourself to people in line at the coffee shop, at an event, or at your own event can be way too much for you, and that’s okay. You don’t have to push yourself to do it. Just know you CAN do it. Does that mean if you don’t do it, you won’t reach success? NO. Your vision of success was creating based off what you are comfortable with, and that dictates what you will do, which should also be comfortable for you.

The Vision of Success

Out of all this, there’s one thing you need to take away with you – YOUR vision of success. You may look at people around you and think, “Oh, I wish I was as successful as her.” That person’s success is not YOUR success. There’s a huge chance that person does not believe she is a success, as much as you do. And there’s also a high likelihood that people look at you like you’re a success even though you don’t feel like you are one. The great thing about being a mompreneurer is that it doesn’t matter what other people’s successes are because this is all about you.

You create the vision of success, and you create the success based off that vision. Close your eyes to other people’s successes. They don’t factor into yours because you are living your life the best way you know how and you know what you want. So, go out there and achieve your vision of success.
