3 Winter Getaway Ideas While Practicing Social Distancing

The COVID-19 pandemic affected everyone. Businesses had to either close or switch to remote work; online learning took over the education sector, and traveling abroad became a distant memory due to closed borders.

However, does it mean that there is no way to even get a little bit of rest outside your home? Not really. There are many ways in which you can relax and still social distance. Want to find out more? Here are some winter vacation ideas that allow you to practice social distancing.

Visit the Mountains.

The mountains are a perfect, socially distanced gateway idea. However, keep in mind not going to the most popular mountain resort, as there is bound to be a lot of people – and that’s not the point. Look for one that has a good reputation but isn’t as crowded – maybe there’s one close to a big resort that is overlooked due to the competition the bigger alternative creates? Perhaps you can go even more isolated and go on a Mount Everest helicopter tour that takes you to Everest base camp!

Also, you can consider renting a cabin. There’s nothing better than sitting in a cabin, under a blanket, and with a glass of mulled wine in hand while snow is falling outside.

Go Camping

Camping is another great opportunity to relax while social distancing. There are not many people camping during winter, which is why camping sites are often almost empty. The advantage of camping is that you don’t have to stay the whole vacation in one place – you can move from one site to another every day.

So, what are you waiting for? Get a Rei Kingdom 6 tent or whichever one will make you the most comfortable, and look for camping sites near you.

Stay in your city

You don’t need to travel far for a getaway. What’s more, you don’t even have to leave your town. Just rent a room in a hotel close to you, and enjoy everything it has to offer – many hotels have their own spas and allow their guests to use them for free.
