Honey-Kissed Cinnamon Apple Tarts

Tiny apple tarts kissed just slightly with honey and spiced with cinnamon make a great dessert for chilly autumn evenings.

  • 1 recipe pie crust dough
  • 4 shortbread cookies, crushed
  • 2 cups sliced apples
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • ¼ cup turbinado sugar
  1. Preheat the oven to 350ยบ F. Roll out pie dough and cut into 5" circles. Sprinkle cookies in the center of each circle.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together apples, lemon juice, honey, and cinnamon. Place ⅓ cup apple mix to the center of the dough circles directly on top of the cookie crumbs. Crimp the edges of the pie crust over the edge of the apple mound, continuing around the entire circle for each round.
  3. Place the tarts on a parchment-lined baking sheet. In a small bowl, whisk together the cream and egg yolk. Brush over the pie dough. Sprinkle all the tarts liberally with turbinado sugar.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the pie crust turns golden brown. Remove from oven, and cool slightly before serving.
