Tis the season . . . for parties and get togethers!
Of course we all want to put our best foot forward when we are seeing friends and family we may only see once a year, and if you’re anything like me, you probably spend a little extra time in front of your vanity before going out to a holiday party or even a casual family event.
Just make sure not to neglect your nails! Nail polish is a great way to update your look and to add a festive flair to even a casual outfit.
Here are some of my favorite holiday nail polish trends this year.
1. Red
Red is back in a big way this year, and the easiest way to incorporate red into your wardrobe is on your nails. Go for a nice rich cherry red for a festive touch.
2. Metallic
Either gold or silver will do, but metallic nail polish is festive and fun to wear, and best of all, it goes with everything.
3. Wine
I love wearing wine and plum on my nails. It’s such a classic, elegant look.
4. Teal
Teal is definitely a little bit more edgy than the other colors I’ve mentioned so far, but it’s so fun to wear. I love that it compliments reds and plums while also making a nice color contrast to neutrals like camel and gray.
5. Crackle
Have you tried crackle yet? It’s so fun. You put on a crackle coat over a regular color for a nifty mosaic design.
6. Sparkle
Another fun one! I love the 2012 Holiday Collection by China Glaze, but all nail polish brands have sparkle this year.

Which trend is your favorite? Will you give one of these a try this holiday season?
