Take the Read2Me Tonight Challenge with Orajel and Scholastic

Read2Me Tonight Challenge

World Read Aloud Day is coming up on February 24th, and Scholastic.com and Orajel™ have partnered together to encourage families to make reading and teeth brushing part of their bedtime routine.

I always hesitate to admit this because it feels like I’m the only one, but we really struggled to make brushing teeth a regular routine when our girls were little. I just never seemed to be able to get into a regular habit when our girls were tiny (although we do finally have one now that, thankfully, includes Jackson as well!).

But even though I wasn’t the most consistent, we’ve taught teeth-brushing skills the same way from the time our oldest was a toddler: “Say eeeh! Say ahhh!”, brushing the front teeth with each eeeh and the sides and back with each ahhh.

Of course, it doesn’t hurt to have a cute toothbrush and fun toothpaste as well, and I was so excited when Orajel™ sent us a PAW Patrol™ set, since that is one of Jackson’s current favorites (especially after his Nona got him a Marshall dog at Build a Bear last week!).

Visit scholastic.com/read2me to join the Read2Me Tonight Challenge in February and March. You’ll find great resources like the 100 Best Read-Aloud Books and the free Three Bees storybook download to help you with your commitment. You’ll also find encouraging articles from the editors of Scholastic Parents to help you prioritize reading aloud and enjoy it as a family.

With the Read2Me Tonight Challenge, you can take a photo or video of yourself reading out loud to your children as part of their bedtime routine for a chance to win all 100 Best Read-Aloud Books {whoa!} and a PAW Patrol™ “Brushers Bundle” from Orajel™. Share your entry via social media for even more chances to win!
