Weekend Reading: April 30, 2011

butterfly kit from insect lore
five caterpillars & chrysalis in various stages

The girls and I had so much fun this week watching our caterpillars grow, make their way to the lid of the cup, hang upside down and eventually transform into chrysalis. Needless to say, our science — and a lot of our read-alouds — this week focused on caterpillars, butterflies and the life cycles of various animals. (For butterfly kits, visit InsectLore.com, our very favorite resource for all things creepy crawly!)

This will be the first weekend I’ve worked in a while, as I put the finishing touches on my new ebook, How to Have Your Cake and Eat It, Too. But I plan to spend my time outside or in my office with the windows open, and we have a fun week planned next week, so don’t feel too sorry for me!

Below are some of my favorite posts from the week. As always, check out what I’m reading to see the other posts that make me stop and think. You’ll find new posts all week long!
