Spoiled Baby

I think it’s safe to say that Jackson is surrounded by love! All of our girls have fallen head over heels for him, and he can’t make a single sound without at least one of his sisters rushing over. They love to give him his paci, rock the swing for him, hold him, look at him and rub his head. It’s pretty sweet, if a bit overwhelming at times!

So far we’ve enjoyed visits from our parents, and we made our first outing as a family of 7 last week for the girls’ American Heritage Girls joining award ceremony. Over the next couple of weeks, we have a fairly steady stream of visitors and outings planned, and I couldn’t be happier to be on maternity leave during the holiday season, which really is my favorite time of the year. I also feel blessedly spoiled to have Sean home full-time during this postpartum period, which has made my recovery this time so easy.

I’m taking a break from my regular link posts to enjoy the early weeks with our new baby. You can still see what I’m reading and what I’m pinning, and I’m excited to introduce you to some of my favorite bloggers as well:

I’ve actually known Shaina from Food for My Family since before either of us even knew that professional blogs existed, and we started our first blog — Transcription Talk — together with Tara from Deal Seeking Mom almost 6 years ago!

Today, Shaina’s one of my best friends — despite the distance between our cities — and no one has influenced our family food culture as much as she has. For her family, food is something they do together, every step of the way – growing, buying, preparing and eating – and while the food on her table will likely always be more gourmet than what you’ll find on mine, her attitude and approach to food and kids in the kitchen is one I try to emulate, however imperfectly.

Here are some of my favorite posts and recipes from her site:
